Principal’s letter to graduates

To the Class of 2018

First and foremost, let me say that it has been an honor and privilege to have served as principal of Enterprise High School and the Senior Class of 2018 this past year. Obviously, there were big shoes to fill in replacing Mr. Rodgers, but the transition has been great and that is due in large part because of the type of students you are. I could not have asked for a better class to be my first graduating class.

If there is one thing I am certain of, it is that you are as excited about graduation as I am but for different reasons. I am assuming you are excited about being done with high school and moving out of mom and dad’s house – which I truly understand. My growing excitement about graduation is that the day marks the culmination of all the hard work that you have put in as a student at Enterprise High. As a community, we highlight your accomplishments in a single event in which not only you are recognized, but your family and your teachers will also receive recognition for all they have helped you accomplish. It truly takes a village. The accomplishments of this class are too long to list. As I am writing this letter, the amount of scholarships are reaching record levels, our athletic teams are winning non-stop, our groups and clubs are racking up awards and acknowledgements. However, do not let collecting scholarships and trophies be the defining moments of this class or you. The window of opportunity of what you can do is as big as it ever will be. Be confident, have faith, and do not be afraid to follow your dreams.

I started this letter off with the word first and for this class that word is fitting. You will forever be known as the first ever class to attend the new Enterprise High all four years. While you may not want to be forever remembered as the first freshmen class, you are the first to attend here the entire four years. On a more dubious note, you are the first class I can ever recall protesting a pep rally over who really won the spirt stick the week before.

To the underclassmen, I look forward to what the future has in store for you.  You have big shoes to fill, but that is always the case at Enterprise High. We expect each class to pave their own way and create even higher expectations for the classes behind them. That is what makes Enterprise High so unique and so special. Never forget, We Are Enterprise.

Lastly, I wish each of you in the senior class the very best in what lies ahead. I am confident you will be successful in whatever you chose to do. I love you and thank you for allowing me to be your principal.

Sincerely,

Brent Harrison
