#JaylenStrong brings Enterprise together
The city of Enterprise and Enterprise High School come together to help and support Jaylen Burnice.
Burnice (9) is an Enterprise native who was diagnosed with lymphoma over the summer, after his family thought it was something minor; not something to worry about.
The city’s support of Burnice stretches from Holly Hill Elementary School all the way to EHS.
At Holly Hill, the school encourages its students to wear blue/white every Wednesday for Jaylen. The school also started selling shirts and bracelets to aid Burnice and his family.
At EHS, the football team has included Burnice in events such as being a team captain in the game vs. Smiths Station earlier in the season, running out of the Wildcat tunnel before the annual blue-white game and before the Smiths Station game, and head coach David Faulkner has said Burnice is welcome to be on the sideline during games over the season.
Burnice also spoke at a pep rally at EHS and pumped up the students while doing so.
Burnice’s mother, Teela Witherspoon, has set up a Facebook group that supports Jaylen (called #PrayersForJaylen), and Witherspoon has mentioned that she is thankful for everyone’s support of Jaylen.
