Sherrer crowned Miss NPF

Julia Mae Sherrer was crowned October 6 as Miss National Peanut Festival.

Julia Mae, a senior at Enterprise High School, had won the title of Miss Coffee County during March 2018, a feeder to the Miss National Peanut Festival Pageant.

Julia Mae represented her county with pride and poise, and she is the first Miss Coffee County to be crowned Miss National Peanut Festival.

She began her peanut journey after being crowned Miss Coffee County and attended numerous queen parties over the summer to acquaint her with fellow peanut contestants.

The night of Miss National Peanut Festival preliminaries October 5, Julia Mae placed top 5 in verbal communication, evening gown, and peanut knowledge.

Julia Mae ended the final night of the Peanut pageant with the evening gown award and being crowned the 2018 Miss National Peanut Festival Queen.

“This is the 75th year of the National Peanut festival, making it a very special year, and I couldn’t be more honored to be a part of it. I am so excited to have the opportunity to represent the Wiregrass and be an advocate for agriculture,” Julia Mae said.

As Miss National Peanut Festival, Julia Mae will have even more opportunities to serve and represent the Wiregrass and the peanut industry.

“I’m looking forward to all of the events this year holds, but I am especially excited to be a taste tester for the cake recipe contest at the peanut festival,” said Julia Mae.
