A helping hand
Hurricane Michael came through and wreaked more havoc than originally anticipated, destroying the coastline and all that was there.
Enterprise had its own disaster in 2007 where two of our schools were destroyed and supplies were lost; Bay County Schools are now in the same position, and EHS gets the opportunity to lend a hand to those who once helped our community.
EHS has been collecting money for Bay County School’s recovery as well as The Red Cross.
EHS has been collecting money in car lines and also by raffling off teacher parking spots in the front of the school; as of October 22, we have collected $4,479.
Former Enterprise City Schools student; Walker Mathis, who now attends Bay County Schools, was affected by Hurricane Michael.
“It is really nice of everyone to help out, and it means a lot that people from my old home are helping me out in my new home,” said Walker Mathis
As Bay County continues to rebuild and repair, Enterprise High School will continue supporting the schools in the area impacted by Hurricane Michael.
EHS will continue to collect money and begin student raffles; tickets start at $2 and you can buy as many as you want, for the chance to win a parking spot by the front door.
Chloe McClenny had the idea to pay back what Bay County Schools did for Enterprise City Schools.
“I understood how much devastation we were in when the tornado hit EHS in 2007 and how Bay County Schools helped us during those times. Part of it was returning the favor and the other part was understanding how grateful we were when money and supplies were donated to us,” said Chloe McClenny
As Enterprise rebuilt, so will Bay, and we as a school will stand beside them along the way.
