Cross country team competes in sectionals

The EHS cross country team competed November 2 in the AHSAA sectionals meet in Keisel Park.

In the 7A girls 5k, Jill Fassl placed 8th running a 20:47; Natalie Warner placed 15th running a  21:37; Laura Patterson placed 17th running a 22:03; Jordan Colacicco followed right after running a 22:46.

Kayleigh Riordan, Kylie Moczynski, Alaura de Hoyos, Sarah Winekof, and  Mirna Thompson all ran within 23 minutes, and Britney Pacheco placed 33rd running a 24:43.

In the 7A boys 5k, Evan Crawford placed 5th running a 16:52; Josh Crawford placed 8th running a 17:11; Tyler Rathburn placed 14th running a 17:32; Henry Templin followed in 16th running a 17:40.

Josh VonEschenbach, Matt Watson, Fletcher Curtis, and Christian Caban Woodham all ran in the 18s, and Joshua Sproul placed 29th running a 19:06.

Both the girls and boys team placed third overall, qualifying them for the state meet this upcoming Saturday.

“We couldn’t be more proud and excited for all of our Amazing Athletes that have worked tirelessly this season to qualify for State. We have had unexpected setbacks; but with the hard work and dedication that the kids have shown, we can’t wait to see how well they all perform this weekend. I am sure they will make our community, school and themselves proud.” Coach Christina Rogers said.
