
New Year, New Me
As the year comes to a close, people everywhere reinvent themselves.
New Year’s resolutions range from exercising more to getting a new job.
This year, however, maybe our New Year’s resolution as a society should be to grow into better people.
Becoming a person who shows kindness, empathy, generosity, and just emphasizes being nice to each other should be the “New Me” we all strive to achieve.
It’s easy, really.
Smile at people when you pass them in the hall; give a compliment to a stranger; just be someone you would want to meet.
If everyone tried a little harder to be nice to one another, the world could very well be a better place filled with people that truly care.
Not only does it make someone else feel good about themselves, but being nice can improve how you feel as well.
The year 2019 is going to be great, but only if we make it so.
With so much hate and fear in the world, what could be more important than counteracting all the negatives with positivity?
Maya Angelou once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
When faced with the choice of drafting up one’s resolution for next year, maybe make a few adjustments.
Amongst that goal weight and dream career, remember to think of how a better world could be reborn within this new year.
A small change can make a huge difference.
