A letter to Confidence
My dearest Confidence,
You are my oldest friend, my greatest regret. You were there for me as a child, but one day, you just disappeared. You brought me the greatest memories and the best smiles I can remember. But you left the second you saw him. The minute Insecurity made an appearance in my life, you gave up and ran. You didn’t even bother to contact me for 5 years. You left me in the hands of Sorrow and Regret without so much as a blink.
However.
I understand why you had to leave. I know now why it was so important to live without you for so long. By leaving, you did leave me with Sorrow and Regret, but you also opened the door to Love and Determination. It may not have turned out the way I expected, but it ended up okay. I ended up okay. So thank you. Thank you for teaching me what I needed to learn without you. Thank you for coming back into my life through someone else: Hope.
Always Yours,
Fear
