EHS principal accepts ESCC presidency
Principal Matt Rodgers announced August 10 that he will become the next President of Enterprise State Community College.
After six years as the Principal of EHS, Mr. Rodgers will leave EHS to serve the community in another and greater way.
He hopes to help many students throughout the Wiregrass community succeed in their educational pursuits at ESCC.
Many students of EHS heard the news during the August 25th Pep Rally.
A hero to many students, Mr. Rodgers’s announced departure was difficult for many to accept.
Sam, a student from EHS said, “Mr. Rodgers was always positive for the entire student body.”
Through both bad and good times Principal Rodgers encouraged students to succeed even if the road forward seemed impossible.
Though there were many difficult times as a Principal, Mr. Rodgers said, “It was an opportunity at a great capacity.”
Throughout the years, many students have learned that Mr. Rodgers always supported them in any way shape or form.
During a private interview Mr. Rodgers said, “I want a positive experience for all students in EHS.”
Students all around campus are waiting to hear about the School Board’s decision to name the next Principal of EHS. It is still hard for many people to comprehend that after such a long time, Mr. Rodgers will leave EHS but continue to serve our community in the educational field.
Before ending the interview Mr. Rodgers said, “I will miss EHS deeply; I will always remain a wildcat, and I will do anything in my power to help students succeed and graduate.”
