
Cats claw their way to victory
The EHS cross country team competed in the Dothan Tiger Classic on September 7th where the boys’ and girls’ teams placed first overall out of several surrounding teams.
In the girls two- mile race Ariana Ramos finished 1st overall, and Britney Pacheo, not far behind, finished 2nd.
In the boys two-mile race Soke Hill finished 2nd, and Jacob Tillery finished 4th.
In the girls 5k Kayleigh Riordan finished 2nd; Natalie Warner, 3rd; Laura Patterson, 4th; Jill Fassl, 6th; and Mirna Thompson, 10th.
In the boys 5k, Gabe Henneberger set a new course record and finished first overall; Evan Crawford, 2nd, Jack Brockman, 3rd; Josh Crawford, 4th; Matt Watson, 5th; Fletcher Curtis, 7th; and Christian Caban, 9th.
The 2017 EHS cross country team has exhibited substantial talent so far this season. As Coaches Chris and Christina Rodgers said, “We are extremely proud of this team and their accomplishments. We have several meets lined up for this season and are expecting great things from these young men and women.”
