Swim team makes a splash

The EHS swim team has shown their hard work this season as the swimmers compete and prepare for sectional meets and the state finals at Auburn’s aquatic center. 

Both the boys’ and girls’ teams have taken a dive into success as they have made best times for this season over the course of their last few meets.

So far, Alison Best, Riley Hines, and Jared Dykman have set the best times for the boys’ and girls’ teams this season in the high school events.

Best has clocked in at 2:20.06 for the 200 meter freestyle, 1:21.70 for the 100M breaststroke, 1:09.69 for the 100M butterfly, 1:12.53 for the 100M individual medley, 2:31.79 for the 200M individual medley, and Hines holds the best time for the 100M freestyle event.

 Dykman has clocked in at 56.24 for the 100M butterfly, 2:09.04 for the 200M individual medley, 23.70 for the 50M freestyle, 51.17 for the 100M freestyle, 1:54.16 for the 200M freestyle, 59.58 for the 100M backstroke, and 1:07.81 for the 100M breaststroke.

 As the Sectionals and State meets approach new Head Coach, Jody Teal , said, “The high school swimmers have shown tremendous improvement since I’ve been here, and I’m excited to see how they perform at Sectionals and State.”
