Pen in the Stone – A fictional tale

“In love?!” Julian exclaimed, even if Claudia kept writing, “Who? How? Why?”

“Shut it, will you?! I’m trying to concentrate!” Claudia exclaimed.

“Then answer my question!” Julian growled.

“Why do you want to know so badly?”

“Because…”

Great, he’s acting like a mother. Saying because like it makes a point. Claudia kept writing. She wasn’t going to let Julian ruin her train of imagination. She loved the idea of him in love with the human barmaid he would go to when he needed to get away from the kingdom. In Claudia’s mind, the human wasn’t the most beautiful in all the land. She couldn’t be in a world a naturally beautiful vampires.

“Claudia, don’t do this to me,” Julian begged.

“Do this to you?!” Claudia snapped, “Julian, you’re not real! I’m probably just insane! I can do whatever I want because I’m your author. You do as I say.”

“And here I was trying to help your ungrateful-”

“What? What am I?” Claudia asked with a smirk, “Please, continue, and I’ll make you a Romeo and Juliet story. Is it that easy for you to forget that I can make or break you. I may be blind, but that does not excuse the fact that I hold the power over you. You don’t own me, Julian.”

“I’m sorry, Claudia, but you have to understand my side, too.”

“And what side is that?”

“The fact that no barmaid could stop me from what I want. There is no love in this heart. And I don’t need that princess either.”

“Then what, Julian? What do you need?”

Julian stayed silent. Claudia couldn’t see, but she could hear excellently. He was pacing, which meant he was thinking.

“Julian, I am going to finish this story the way I want, and you can’t stop me.”

“Please, Claudia!”

“No!”

“What about a deal?” Julian asked quickly.

“A deal?” Claudia raised an eyebrow.

“Yes, you give me three days to figure out a way to get your sight back, and in return, you write my story how I want.”

Claudia thought about it for a moment. This could be a good thing. Sight once again returned to her, for a change of story from its own character.

“Three days,” Claudia said.

“Three days,” Julian confirmed.

“Fine, but I keep writing, and I’ll delete every word when you deliver.”

“Yes, ma’am.”
