Cats suffer a tough loss

The EHS football team took an unexpected loss to the Smiths Station Panthers in their 2018 homecoming game.

The Cats got a great head start scoring the first touchdown, leading the Panthers 6-0 with 8:31 left in the first quarter.

From there, the Smiths Station Panthers and the Enterprise Wildcats played a game of tag, one team scoring shortly after the other.

KJ Couch, a wide receiver for the EHS Wildcats said,“ Well… it wasn’t a terrible game, but we didn’t come out ready to play. We came out with a bit of a big head thinking since we had beat them last year we could beat them easily this year but it didn’t turn out how we wanted it to. Now we have to play even harder to be a playoff team.”

EHS trudged behind the Panthers with 11:15 left in the game, 16-22.

It became evident that this 2018 homecoming game might not grasp the outcome we had all hoped for.

Maurice Hicks, a running back for the EHS Wildcats said ,“ Well of course it was a tough one to swallow, but you win some you lose some. Things didn’t go the way we had hoped. We just have to regroup, make adjustments, and continue to give 100% and improve! That’s what the game is all about.”

All in all, the Cats managed to use this experience as a stepping stone to further them in their current season.
