EHS crowns homecoming queen
Homecoming queen, Ruby Maghoney was crowned Sept. 14 during the homecoming game.
The court was nominated and voted on by fellow students.
The 2018 homecoming court consisted of freshman attendant Peyton Hooks, sophomore attendant Makayla Thomas, junior attendant Savannah Long , senior attendants Corinna Jones and Summer Parker, and Homecoming Queen Ruby Maghoney.
When asked how it felt to be crowned homecoming queen, Ruby Maghoney said, “ It was very surreal. I’m honored and grateful for the experience I never thought I would have. I felt very loved and supported, and I want to return that feeling.”
Senior attendant Summer Parker said, “Not at all! It was a huge surprise to hear my name as a senior homecoming attendant,” when asked if she was expecting to be nominated. She also said, “ I feel extremely honored that my graduating class chose me to serve on homecoming court.”
Sophomore attendant Makayla Thomas said “It was an experience that I had never had before, so that was a little different, but an overall great feeling.”
Ruby Maghoney was crowned by last year’s homecoming queen Anna Beth Payne.
