EHS implements supper program

Enterprise City Schools revealed a new supper program October 1st.

The program, which is free to all students within the system, is after school in the lunchroom from 3:00 to 3:30.

A variety of meals are offered, such as hot foods and grab and go meals as well.

The program works the same way lunch does. Students choose at least three items,  one of the three must be a fruit or vegetable. Students will also enter their lunch number; however, all the meals are free.

When asked if the program was a good idea Nicole Stephens EHS color guard member, said, “ Yes, because a lot of people involved in after school activities are hungry before practice.

She also went on to say, “ It is also good for people who aren’t fortunate enough to eat a meal at home after school hours.

Cross country runner, Jill Fassl said, “The financial burdens of breakfast and lunch had already been addressed by the school system but the last meal of the day for some students could still not be affordable for their families.”

Fassl also said, “These suppers are potential help for those families that may be so financially crippled that they cannot eat otherwise.”

Students should take advantage of this opportunity provided by our lunchroom workers, who work hard everyday to prepare nutritious meals for the students of the school.
