EHS swim team makes a splash

The EHS swim team competed in Auburn October 20 in the War Eagle Invitational with Hayden Fontaine, Jake Holmes, Alison Best, Maggie Coyle and Jolee Fernandez all qualifying.

Maggie Coyle swam a time of 28.78 for her 50 freestyle; Alison Best swam a 1:03.51 on her 100 freestyle; and Hayden Fontaine swam a 24.48 on his 50 freestyle.

“This season I have shown a lot of improvement as I am a couple seconds from breaking the school record in one of my events,” Coyle said.

Nikki Wood is the swim team’s new coach and brings a background of swimming at Purdue.

“Coach Wood has been a huge advocate for our team’s success this season,” Coyle also said.

The team members talk highly of her and are all looking forward to the next meet.
