EHS basketball hosts scrimmage

The EHS basketball team hosted Nov. 3 a scrimmage at the high school.

The scrimmage was played against Dothan and Eufaula. Varsity boys, varsity girls, and ninth grade boys participated.

The varsity boys played first with a 2-point win over Dothan.

EHS senior Jajuan Hayes was the top scorer with 15 points.

Senior Randale Holloway came in at second with 12 points.

Junior Dallas Howell scored 8 points as well.

“I think this season we will go farther than we have ever been,” Hayes said. He also went on to say, “Everyone should come to watch us as we put on a show.”

The varsity girls played a great game but unfortunately couldn’t pull off a win.

EHS sophomore Harmony Baker and senior Gwen Mitchell were some of the top scorers for the girls.

“I am very excited for the season; I feel that we have a lot of young talent,” Mitchell said.

“I feel pretty confident for this season. Each practice we improve and work on specific skills,” EHS senior Shay Teh said.

She also went on to say, “It’s my senior year, so I hope we go far and win state.”

This year’s basketball schedule consists of two in school games against Carroll, one here and one in Ozark.

Varsity boys and girls kick off their regular season November 15 at Headland.
