Hillcrest hosts fall festival

Hillcrest Elementary School hosted its annual Fall Festival November 6 for the youth of Enterprise.

The fall festival is an event held every year around the beginning of November to get children and their parents excited for the fall season.

The event offers many activities led by teachers and some high school students for elementary and jr high students to enjoy.

The activities offered include face painting, candy walk, dunking booth, and inflatables.

Children are able to participate by buying tickets and giving the designated amount to the activity host.

Peyton Hooks, a student at Enterprise High School, volunteered to help out at the festival.

“I helped at the mini golf station,” she said, “it was fun watching the kids play and get excited when they won.”

The festival offered a silent auction for parents to partake in, allowing them to win gifts for themselves and their children.

Mrs. Ellis, a teacher at Hillcrest Elementary School, said that she enjoys helping at the festival every year.

“I helped with the silent auction this year instead of the games,” she said, “I think it was better for my students; they didn’t have to feel pressured to play my game.”

Along with the games, the festival had a live performance from In Harmony, who performed songs that are friendly for all ages to enjoy.

Hillcrest was able to have a successful fall festival this year, and it has left the city excited to see what will be in store next year.
