As You Wish

EHS Big Blue Band kicked off their season August 23rd in Wildcat Stadium.

The group worked extremely hard over the summer to prepare a breathtaking show.

Countless hours spent at the school paid off.

This year’s theme for the band is As You wish, inspired by the movie Aladdin.

The show features songs such as “Shofukan,” “I wish” by Stevie Wonder, “Arabian Nights,” and “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd.

The EHS Big Blue Band competed October 5 in  their first competition, A-Town Invitational.

They traveled  to Andalusia to compete against Eufuala, Daphne Baker, Pratville, Rehoebeth and WS Neal High School.

All of these high schools are extremely good competition for Big Blue.

“I’m so excited for my last first competition as a senior on EHS Big Blue Marching Band’s danceline. We have worked extremely hard as a group and we are ready to showcase our talent,” Grace Long said.

The band brought home best in class percussion, best in class danceline, and best in class band.

They earned the title of overall Grand Champions for the A-Town Invitational and superior for all categories.
