Pep rallies are a fun way to encourage and cheer on the EHS football team throughout their season, and some students have ideas on new ways to improve them.

Senior Rhi Keck said that the way to improve pep rallies is to “have more.”

“If you want to make them more exciting, make them longer. Things wouldn’t be as panicky, and you could take more time to perfect it. I feel like not everyone is into it as much because some people are just sitting there and not really doing anything. [We need] a little more interaction, maybe some contests or races. It’s just people cheer, the band plays, and then we leave,” sophomore Jordan Tacey said.

Junior Riley McCoullough mentioned the idea of  “doing games with the students.”

Sophomore Jayde Peña thought of “taking people out of the student sections and do little activities like pie eating contests or shooting free throws.”

“I feel like we should do more chants instead of the same ones over and over again. Maybe have a wave thing going on in the crowd or get the coach to breakdance. [Include] new songs [when we enter the gym]. Do something with the lights, make it look cooler. I’m telling you, everybody would go crazy. Go Cats!” senior Matthew Caylor said.

“Get coach to break-dance,” senior Braden Chalker said.

Junior Mackenzie Leger wants “better dress up days” and the involvement of other teams besides football.

“We should recognize more sports,” senior Jhian Belen said.
