EHS offers a variety of courses to cater toward students’ interests and prepare them for their future careers, but some students think that the school still lacks classes that would be beneficial to their success.
Junior Nicole Higgins wishes there was a “cosmetology” course offered at EHS.
Freshman Makayla Crushie, Junior Hope Yerdon, and Senior Brandon Strickland all agreed that a “cooking class” or some sort of home economics elective would make a great addition to the list of course options.
“If there were a culinary or woodshop class, I would take [them],” said junior Mikyla Kay.
“Drafting, kind of like an architectural class,” junior Samantha Segura said.
Senior Jhian Belen said an “E-sports” elective or club would be a good idea to engage students into the world of technology.
Belen also brought up changing Career Prep to be required for everyone senior year instead of as a freshman because “no one remembers anything” and the class isn’t as applicable in ninth grade.
“Maybe like some sort of specialized history elective, an American/British literature class, [or] a Shakespeare class,” junior Natalie Warner said.
“A fitness class like weight training for non-sports people,” junior Mackenzie Leger said.
