Where do you stand: Christmas traditions?

Many families have various traditions they partake in during the holidays that differ in many ways.

The typical holiday feast consists of eating “ham and turkey” as senior Jace Marshburn’s family does.

This isn’t always the case though: Junior Alaura de Hoyos said her family “make[s] homemade lasagna each year for [their] Christmas dinner.”

Senior Gabriel Fontanela said his family “eat[s] pork and Cuban food.”

Marshburn’s family also “opens presents at [his] house and then [they] drive up to [his] grandparents’ [house] and open presents there as well.”

In Junior Mackenzie Leger’s household, they “binge watch the Harry Potter movies all day after, [they] open presents.”

Junior Alexis Altaffer said, “We watch the Santa Clause movies on Christmas Eve.”

Sophomore Lauren Rodgers “[puts] ornaments on the tree [with her family] and [isn’t allowed] to leave [her] bedroom until [her] parents let [her on] Christmas morning.”

Senior Jhian Belen said, “We always go on a trip and try to color coordinate our outfits. This year we’re [wearing] ugly sweater[s].”

Senior Michael Cox said, “I open one present on Christmas Eve, and we all get matching pajamas.”

Senior Braden Chalker said, “Usually on Christmas Eve we all go to my grandparents (dad’s side) and open some presents.”
