Wildcats shoot for area tournament

The Lady Cats and the Wildcats both played their senior night game January 30, which resulted in wins for both teams.

These wins bridged the gap between our Lady Cat and Wildcat Basketball teams and the area tournament.

The Lady Cats won their game 72-28, giving them a very motivated feeling after a rough beginning in their season.

Team manager, Senior Kiana Sargent said, “At first the team was disappointed because at the start of the season there were not many wins, but during the second half they became more motivated and made the Area Tournament. I just say staying motivated will be the best option in moving forward.”

The boy’s team also have also experienced some difficulties during their season, having multiple players injured and unable to play, leaving them at a disadvantage.

Rhett Harrelson said, “We don’t really focus a whole lot on the other teams. I mean we have scouting reports and look at certain things that they do and their tendencies, but we focus more on us and what we try and do and our style of play.”

Both teams have shown perseverance throughout the season and intend to continue to focus on the game and themselves during the Area Tournament.
